Work Experience

I am currently working part time at The Beatles Shop in Liverpool. My original duties were basic shop duties: serving customers, advising with purchases, making sure shelves were stocked etc. However over the years this has expanded and during my time at the shop I have prepared press releases, given interviews, written the blog entries for the Annual Beatles Auction website. I also put together the auction catalogue every year, including preparing an online version, and have recently started a personal blog about working in the shop. Links to sites I am involved with can be found on the contacts page.

For a short while I worked in the art gallery that was part of the shop. At first I was just employed to run the gallery at weekends, but again this role expanded rapidly to include hospitality at event launches, preparing press releases and other general promotion of the gallery. Before the gallery finally closed, I was wholely responsible for managing the last exhibition there, as well as a show that was held in the same premises after that when the gallery had changed hands.

I gained some office experience in a part time job at a Theatre Company/Agency in Salford. My duties involved some filing, handling telephone enquires about productions, actively promoting productions to schools, and I was often left to work on my own in the office.
